About

Hello and thanks for visiting!

In 2017, what started as a childlike curiosity in making compositions, has now bourgeoned into a full blown obsession!

These works are created using an unconventional mix of materials such as paper pulp, fine cement and high quality acrylic paint, each piece draws attention to the medium’s tactile quality and surprising beauty, rendered unrecognisable from its original form and intended use. The hand worked nature of every piece aims to encourage a tactile response in the viewer. Once fluid and malleable, the hardened surface preserves a physical memory of the maker’s hands as well as the feelings and visual stimuli present at the moment of creation.

These pieces are air dried, and therefore seasonal, as works produced in winter can take up to two weeks for drying.

After years of working in water colour and gouache and taking it very seriously, this way of creating has been the opposite experience. Playful, free and spontaneous. Usually made in one sitting a painting is resultant of gathered thoughts, feelings and imagery.

Every piece is a playful collage of memories, textures and found visuals. They celebrate light-hearted moments of tenderness and quiet beauty - a humble invitation to dwell in that gentle space where we are able to pause and not take ourselves too seriously.
